A CLINICAL SURVEY ON INFANT HEPATITIS

Abstract
This survey was intended to suggest measure for preventing potential contaminations of hepatitis by examining analyzing the present conditions of hepatitis cases. The objects were 56 infant patients below the age of 15 who had been treated in the Hospital of Medicine School, Kyungbuk National University during the period from January 1973 till December 1977. The results of the survey were as follows : 1) The annual frequencies of morbidity rate during the five years were similar, although the highest rate was one in 1977 (35%). 2) The distribution between sexes showed that male patients marked three times as high attack rate as female ones. 3) Among age groups, the highest infected group was 3-5yr. (28.6%) while the lowest one was the group under 2 years. (5.4%). 4) The months in which the largest number of patients were treated in the hospital were between August and October (35.7%). 5) The main symptoms shown were anorexia, megalohepatia, dark-brown urine, jaundice etc, among which anorexia was most prevalent. 6) The prevention of the disease requires some knowledge of virus, but nursing cares should vary with each different symptoms.
